One Day In The Life Of An
Affiliate Marketer
Getting started in a work from
home affiliate marketing business isn’t too difficult now that most
people have access to the internet. It’s certainly much easier than
the days when you had to use the telephone in order to get the
latest updates on how your program was coming
along.
Therefore, assuming you have the needed
technology available, here’s typical day for in the life of an
affiliate marketer.
After waking up and having
breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments
in their business. As far as the marketer is concerned there might
be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.
The website design might require some revisions because
the marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase opt-ins
from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate’s conversion
rates.
That done, it’s time to submit the affiliate program
to directories that list affiliate programs. These directories help
to attract people to join your affiliate program — a sure way to
promote the affiliate program.
Now it’s time to track down
the sales you’re getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately.
There may be phone orders and emails to track down and see if
they’re new clients checking their products out and then noting down
the contact information that might be a viable source in the
future.
There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads,
banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because
the marketer knows this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to
stay visible and accessible as well.
The affiliate marketer
remembered that there are questions from visitors to answer which
has to be done quickly since nothing turns off a customer faster
than an unanswered email. No one wants to be ignored and customers
are not always the most patient of people. Answers should be quick
and professional yet friendly too.
In the process of doing
all the necessities, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where
he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under that same
program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best
promote their products. There are many things to be learned
about affiliate marketing and it’s a continuous process and so
sharing tips and advice is a good way to show support.
The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago,
so it’s time for the affiliate marketer to see if there’s something
happening in the market. This will be written about in the
marketer’s publication to be distributed to who subscribe to their
newsletter.
These same publications are also an important
tool for staying up to date with the newly introduced products.
The marketer has a special sale his customers will hopefully
want to know about and so he’ll spend time writing and then sending
out the promotional email to his list.
It’s that
time to show some appreciation to those who’ve helped the marketer
in with promotions and sale increases. So he’ll mention that person,
their sites and the process they’ve used to make everything work. Of
course, this will be published in the newsletters, along with other
important information.
The marketer still has time to write
out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the
products being promoted. There’s also time to post some comments on
how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are
lots of newbies.
Two objectives have been accomplished at the
same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the
program they’re in. You never know, someone may want
join.
Time does fly. Missed lunch but is quite contented with
the tasks done. Bed time.
Ok, so this may not be all done in
a day. But this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a
dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.
